Iris E. Gross

June 6, 1925 - December 10, 2011

Iris Emily Gross, 86, of Janesville died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Cedar Crest Health Center. She was born in Janesville on June 6, 1925, the daughter of William V. and Emma (Siebel) Tassell. She attended Wilson Grade School and graduated from Janesville High School in 1943. Iris married F. Frank Gross on July 14, 1951 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Janesville. She was formerly employed for a time by A T & T as a telephone operator but spent most of her life being a homemaker. Iris was know as a great cook and baker (especially pies).  She loved her family, friends, neighbors, cats, bird watching and flowers. She enjoyed reading the daily newspaper and magazines, taking trips and drives in the country with her husband, Frank. She also enjoyed the times when she formerly taught Sunday School and Bible School.
Iris is survived by her daughter, Pat (John) Mork of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank on July 5, 2011. Also preceding her in death are her parents and a special aunt and uncle, Louise “Lou” and George “Butch” Butcher.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2001 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 14th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home with The Rev. DeeAnn Woods officiating.
